About the Founder

Tuffour Francis, the founder of AG, who attributes his passion for media ministry as God-implanted dream thinks that mass media, has become a dominant force in this age. And mass media touch virtually every person in this world. He believes that the modern means of communication in spreading the gospel is under-utilized and his vision is to correct that deficit. His favorite quotations from Ellen G. White are: “We must take every justifiable means of bringing the light before the people. Let the press be utilized, and let every advertising agency be employed that will call attention to the word”-Testimonies, Vol. 6 page 36. “Means will be devised to reach hearts. Some of the methods used in this work will be different from the methods used in the work in the past…” Evangelism, page, 105.

Tuffour developed an early interest in journalism at a tender age of twelve when he used to simulate one broadcaster at Ghana Broadcasting Corporation called Danso Abebrese. He had short studies at Institute of Business Management and Journalism (IBM&J) in Kumasi . He studied the following courses in print and radio journalism, public relations, advertising, sales and marketing. He could not finish the program due to the demands of his pastoral work; however he continued self-study on those courses. He is full of hope that he will have postgraduate studies in media and communication in the near future.

Tuffour is a pastor with several years of counseling experience. He attended Okomfo Anokye Secondary School, Valley View University for his B.A. in Theology. He also read his Masters of Arts in Religion (M.A.) at University of Ghana, Legon. His passion for communication and media ministry led him to write his postgraduate dissertation on “Media and Communication in Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ghana ”. Currently he is doing his second post graduate studies in M.A. Guidance and Counseling at University of Cape Coast.

His research areas of interest are mass media in areas like ICT, religion, theological issues and family life education. He was a resource person for Nkosuo Radio program on marriage in Kumasi . Tuffour is a founding member of the emerging Professional Counselors Association of Ghana, a member of Internet Society, an international body that promotes access, education and standard on Internet, and a member of Society of Adventist Communicators, a network of professional communicators, and also a member of Adventist Professionals’ Network (APN), an electronic global registry of Adventists who hold degree in any field. He is married.
